Wallace Construction is a family-owned and COBID Oregon Certified Emerging Small Business (ESB # 14076)

For homeowners in Scappoose, OR, outdoor spaces are more than areas for summer barbecues—they’re extensions of the home where friends gather, families relax, and memories are made. One local homeowner recently decided to transform their backyard with a stamped concrete patio, and the results were impressive.

Our team at Wallace Construction had the opportunity to complete this project, delivering a durable and visually appealing outdoor surface that will serve this Scappoose family for years to come.

The owner’s backyard had a basic grass area next to a wood fence and outdoor grill setup, but they wanted something more usable and attractive. They chose a stamped concrete patio for its combination of strength, low maintenance, and aesthetic flexibility.

Our Professional Stamped Concrete Installation Process

Our experienced crew followed a proven installation process that provides both function and beauty:

Site Prep & Excavation

We started by clearing the existing turf and debris along the property’s fence line and house perimeter. The site was excavated to the required depth, taking care to maintain a slight pitch for water runoff—essential in Scappoose’s rainy climate.

Grading and Base Installation

A layer of compacted gravel was added to establish a strong, stable foundation. Proper grading is critical in the Pacific Northwest, where poor drainage can lead to cracks and settling.

Forming & Pouring

With forms securely in place, we poured high-performance concrete and immediately began working the surface.

The chosen wood plank stamp was applied while the concrete was still wet, giving it a realistic texture and pattern. A light brown pigment was mixed into the concrete to further replicate the appearance of stained wood.

Detailing and Finishing

Once properly cured, the slab was pressure-washed, and a concrete sealer was applied.

This topcoat protects the surface from moisture, UV rays, and stains—important for outdoor living spaces in areas like Scappoose that get both rain and sunshine.

A Durable, Stylish Patio Built for the PNW

The finished stamped patio sits flush with the house and fence line, creating a cohesive, low-maintenance extension of the home’s outdoor space. The wood plank stamp detail adds texture and warmth while maintaining all the benefits of concrete.

It’s a perfect match for the natural surroundings of Columbia County.

Upgrade Your Outdoor Space with a Stamped Concrete Patio

Get the look of wood with the strength of concrete—minus the upkeep.

If you’re in the Scappoose area and your backyard feels more like a mud pit than a retreat, a stamped concrete patio could be your ideal upgrade. Wood decks warp, rot, and require frequent staining—especially in our rainy Northwest climate.

At Wallace Construction, we install custom stamped patios that stand up to moisture, resist cracking, and look amazing year-round. We’ll guide you through every step—from selecting the right pattern and color to prepping the site and sealing the finish. We bring expert craftsmanship and local knowledge to every job.
